About the role#
The Foreign Exchange (FX) Summer Analyst role supports the KeyBanc Capital Markets FX team. You will help deliver market insight, risk management, and execution support to corporate and commercial banking clients with international business needs. This position provides exposure to currency markets, sales strategy, and the daily work of a capital markets sales professional.
What you'll do#
- Assist FX Sales team members with client coverage, including preparing market updates and client call materials.
- Research foreign exchange market themes, macroeconomic developments, central bank policy, interest rate trends, and currency volatility.
- Analyze client foreign currency exposure, international payment activity, and hedging opportunities across spot, forward, and other FX risk management solutions.
- Partner with sales, trading, product, relationship management, credit, and operations teams to understand how FX solutions are originated, structured, and executed.
- Prepare internal reports, prospect lists, and pitch materials to help prioritize client outreach.
- Participate in team meetings, market discussions, and training sessions across Capital Markets.
What you'll need#
- Status as a rising junior enrolled in a four-year undergraduate degree program.
- Coursework in finance, economics, or accounting.
- Minimum undergraduate 3.5 GPA.
- Strong quantitative and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to synthesize market information and communicate insights clearly.
- Comfort working with data, spreadsheets, and market information platforms.

- Locations: Cleveland, Ohio and Boston, Massachusetts.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Employment Type: Full-time.
- Compensation: $1,340 to $1,440 per week, plus a $2,000 sign-on bonus. This role is eligible for overtime pay.
