About the role#
This internship position within the Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation Program focuses on supporting children and families with behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs. Interns will gain experience in community-based services, learning to apply strength-based and needs-driven approaches while collaborating with childcare professionals.
What you'll do#
- Learn about early childhood behavioral and emotional needs.
- Partner with childcare professionals across the field.
- Receive supervision from licensed and experienced staff to support clinical growth and degree requirements.
- Gain access to ongoing training, professional development, and opportunities for continuing education units (CEUs).
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program or higher in the mental health or social work field.
- A demonstrated clinical interest in working with children and adolescents.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed models of treatment is preferred.
- Successful completion of background and driving record checks is required.
