About the role#
This internship with the Flexible Support Services program offers graduate students the opportunity to support youth and families through advocacy, psychoeducation, and clinical intervention. The program serves children and young adults up to age 22 who have mental health diagnoses, focusing on improving functioning within the home and community to prevent hospitalizations. Interns receive supervision from licensed staff to support degree completion.
What you'll do#
- Learn and apply clinical interventions to support youth and families.
- Explore clinical knowledge through evidence-based and culturally competent modalities.
- Strengthen documentation skills and gain experience with electronic medical records.
- Collaborate as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master’s degree program or higher in social work or counseling.
- A clinical interest in working with children and adolescents.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed models of treatment is preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to pass background and driving record checks.
