This internship provides an opportunity to support children and families with significant behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs. Interns work within a community-based, after-school environment that utilizes strength-based, needs-driven, and evidence-based practices. You will receive supervision from licensed and experienced staff to support your clinical growth and degree requirements.
What you'll do#
- Learn to apply clinical interventions to support youth in social and educational settings.
- Explore clinical knowledge through the use of evidence-based modalities.
- Strengthen documentation skills and gain experience with electronic medical records.
- Serve as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team supporting youth and families.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward a Bachelor's degree or higher in mental health, social work, human services, psychology, public health, nursing, or sociology.
- A strong interest in working with children and adolescents.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed models of treatment is preferred.
- Ability to pass background and driving record checks.
