About the role#
The Wound Closure & Healing and Biosurgery R&D team in Raritan, New Jersey, is looking for a co-op to support the development of new topical skin adhesives for surgical applications. You will work within the MedTech organization, which produces sutures, skin adhesives, and various surgical devices.
What you'll do#
- Perform hands-on laboratory work in chemistry and engineering environments.
- Conduct studies, develop test methods, and create fixtures.
- Craft and evaluate prototypes for new products.
- Participate in voice-of-customer labs to understand user needs.
- Write test protocols, generate reports, and document meeting minutes using good documentation practices.
- Collaborate with engineers and external suppliers to support project activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's or master's program in Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Completion of at least your freshman year of undergraduate studies.
- Proficiency in lab-based chemistry activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, during the co-op session.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

- This position is located in Raritan, New Jersey.
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid co-op role.
- You must provide your own transportation to the work location.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States is required, as this position does not offer employment visa sponsorship.
