About the role#
As a Biotech Sustainability Intern, you will help shape the PH Biotech sustainability program into a North America-specific strategy. You will partner with internal teams to turn global sustainability ambitions into practical initiatives, metrics, and behaviors that reduce environmental impact. This role provides hands-on experience in areas such as energy efficiency, pollution prevention, waste reduction, and sustainable facility design.
What you'll do#
- Develop proposals to address environmental concerns like energy use, conservation, pollution reduction, and recycling.
- Gather data and report on Biotech sustainability progress against external benchmarks and internal goals.
- Assist with developing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to build partnerships for environmental and sustainability topics.
- Maintain knowledge of environmental laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Participate in internal sustainability committees to align local efforts with organizational priorities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Graduate degree program in Sustainability Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Energy, Science, or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
- Basic problem-solving and project management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
