About the role#
As a Summer 2027 Environmental Intern, you will work with the Corporate Environmental Manager to support compliance efforts at our distribution center. This role focuses on a specific environmental compliance project while assisting with daily tasks such as hazardous waste management, regulatory reporting, and site inspections. You will gain hands-on experience in a professional business environment and present your project outcomes at the end of the internship.
What you'll do#
- Assist with hazardous waste program management.
- Prepare compliance reports and conduct site inspections.
- Support audits to identify and address potential risks.
- Develop and deliver training materials to improve environmental responsibility.
- Support ongoing projects, analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business partners.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development activities.
- Present project outcomes and key learnings at the conclusion of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Rising sophomore, junior, or senior standing is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Demonstrated leadership through academic, extracurricular, or work experiences.
- Must not require sponsorship to work in the United States now or in the future.
