About the role#
As a Material Science Co-Op, you will work alongside our Corporate Materials Engineer to support materials testing, identification, and failure analysis. You will help identify materials for new chemical manufacturing processes and contribute to the mechanical integrity of existing equipment. This role involves collaborating with engineering teams across the United States and South America to support safe and reliable manufacturing operations.
What you'll do#
- Identify materials of construction for new chemical manufacturing processes.
- Conduct literature searches and analyze existing material applications to inform selection.
- Set up corrosion coupons in the lab and analyze the results.
- Perform failure analysis testing and document your observations.
- Help develop and refine mechanical integrity programs for manufacturing processes.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Completion of at least one year of a Bachelor’s program.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Good problem-solving skills and the initiative to work in both laboratory and plant environments.
- Excellent organization and planning abilities.

- This is an on-site role based in Chesterfield, Missouri.
- This position is full-time and paid.
