About the role#
As a Vegetable Seed Intern, you will learn the fundamentals of vegetable seed manufacturing. You will support regional and global stakeholders while contributing to operational excellence. This role involves assisting with documentation, supporting field and manufacturing activities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve reliability, quality, and cost.
What you'll do#
- Work with onsite teams to execute projects and deliverables in seed processing.
- Support field activities including stock seed shipment, reconciliation, trial coordination, rouging, scouting, pollination, harvesting, threshing, drying, and delivery.
- Complete data validation and SAP reports, including equipment run time and plant scheduling.
- Assist with documentation of operational processes.
- Support Quality and HSE functions to drive key programs and metrics.
- Collaborate with Crop Specialists, Field Quality, and Production Research personnel to implement solutions.
- Contribute to business initiatives, standardization, and optimization projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program.
- A valid driver's license and personal transportation, as worksites have limited access to public transit.
- Ability to build relationships and work effectively in a team.
- Clear and professional communication skills.
- Self-motivation with a strong results orientation.
- Ability to manage deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and effective organization of data and activities.
- Excellent computer skills for data acquisition and record keeping.
