About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based in Orange, Virginia. You will join the Energetic and Propellant Development team to support chemical research, material qualification, and manufacturing processes. This role requires you to work on-site.
What you'll do#
- Perform chemical research and analysis to support propellant and compound synthesis.
- Conduct laboratory testing following approved work instructions.
- Analyze and interpret test results.
- Prepare accurate reports of your laboratory activities.
- Develop research proposals to evaluate new products and synthetic methods.
- Maintain research records and collaborate with the team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or Mathematics.
- You must be returning to school after the internship ends.
- Knowledge of chemistry, mathematics, statistics, mechanics, and physics.
- Understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and protocols.
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
Location & details#
- Location: Orange, Virginia.
- Schedule: 9/80 schedule (9 hours Monday through Thursday, 8 hours every other Friday).
- Compensation: $22.00 to $40.50 per hour.
