About the role#
This co-op position offers hands-on experience within the DePuy Synthes R&D laboratory. You will work alongside experienced scientists and engineers to support the development of orthopaedic products. This role is a full-time, paid opportunity based in Warsaw, Indiana.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the design and development of research studies for new materials and technologies.
- Learn orthopaedic industry testing standards, computational modeling, and manufacturing processes like casting, forging, and heat treating.
- Characterize materials and evaluate processes for both new and existing products.
- Perform wear and impaction studies, conduct failure analyses, and develop new test methods.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical projects.
- Prepare and review technical reports and deliver oral presentations to staff.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Biomedical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Environmental Engineering.
- Completion of at least your freshman year by the start of the rotation.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
- Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the 2027 co-op session.
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university during the Spring, Summer, or Fall 2027 terms.
- Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for future visa sponsorship.
