About the role#
This internship provides hands-on training and development for individuals interested in HVAC systems maintenance and operations. You will work directly with experienced technicians to gain practical skills in commercial building systems, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting within a professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Shadow and assist experienced technicians during routine maintenance, repairs, and system inspections.
- Participate in preventative maintenance for equipment including air handlers, chillers, boilers, and control systems.
- Learn to read and interpret mechanical drawings, building plans, and equipment specifications.
- Assist in diagnosing system issues using testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and system performance in facility management systems.
- Support energy efficiency initiatives, participate in safety training, and collaborate with facilities team members.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit or recent completion of education in HVAC, mechanical engineering, facilities management, or a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication abilities and an eagerness to learn.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and work in environments such as mechanical rooms and rooftops.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to obtain a refrigerant license during the internship.
