About the role#
This internship provides hands-on training for individuals pursuing a career in commercial and industrial electrical systems. Working alongside experienced electricians, you will gain practical skills in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting while supporting facilities management teams. This role offers a structured path to understanding electrical systems, safety protocols, and code compliance in a professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Learn to properly use testing equipment, such as multimeters and voltage testers, to diagnose electrical issues.
- Assist with inspecting, testing, and maintaining electrical distribution systems.
- Help install and maintain building electrical systems, including lighting fixtures and circuit breakers.
- Participate in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Attend regular safety training and strictly adhere to electrical safety protocols.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of education in electrical technology, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
- A basic understanding of electrical theory and electrical safety practices.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude.
- Good mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Physical capability to work in various positions and environments, such as on ladders or in confined spaces.
