About the role#
This internship provides experience in volunteer recruitment, coordination, and management within a community-based nonprofit. You will work alongside the Volunteer Services Manager and the department to support staff and volunteers across various programs. This is an unpaid, full-time, on-site position with rolling recruitment.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate and schedule volunteers for office and off-site assignments.
- Ensure volunteers are effectively utilized and engaged.
- Respond to volunteer inquiries in a timely manner.
- Plan and coordinate volunteer recognition activities.
- Assist with volunteer recruitment and outreach events.
- Maintain strict confidentiality to protect organizational value and individual privacy.
- Sign in and out for each shift and report concerns to the Volunteer Services Manager.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward or completion of a college degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Social Work, Communications, Psychology, or Sociology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Effective written and oral communication skills for interacting with staff, volunteers, and community members.
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
- Previous internship or experience in volunteer engagement is a plus.
- Experience with Volgistics software is a plus.
- Completion of the primary COVID-19 vaccination series is required prior to the start date.
