The Adaptive Bike Program Intern supports the implementation of daily adaptive bike and recreation sessions for adults 18 and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This seasonal role focuses on building rapport with participants, fostering an inclusive environment, and ensuring each individual meets their personal program goals.
What you'll do#
- Co-facilitate multiple adaptive bike sessions daily with the Program Coordinator and volunteers.
- Provide group and individual support, supervision, and acclimation to specialized equipment.
- Assist in the assessment and evaluation of participants through organized record-keeping.
- Document participant needs, desires, and goals to ensure person-centered outcomes.
- Organize program supplies and materials to ensure proper handling and equipment longevity.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university degree program in Therapeutic Recreation or a similar field.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual, developmental, or physical disabilities.
- Experience in adaptive sports or recreational programs is preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance.
- Ability to provide quality client service with a cooperative and detail-oriented attitude.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, and moving equipment.

- Term: Summer 2026 (May–September).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Primary Location: The Parker Fieldhouse, Parker, CO.
- Secondary Location: Home office, Denver, CO.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
- Environment: This role requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
