About the role#
J.S. Held LLC is hiring for a Construction Advisory Internship for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based in Arlington, Virginia. The role operates on a hybrid schedule.
What you'll do#
- Assist in advising clients within the construction and government contracts space.
- Review and assess project change orders, including their scope and costs.
- Analyze project schedules and perform loss of productivity and inefficiency analysis.
- Calculate increased material or labor costs for damages.
- Review drawings and specifications.
- Assist in the preparation of expert reports and presentations.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, etc.) or Construction Management.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with PDF management software such as Bluebeam or Adobe.
- Knowledge of scheduling software like Microsoft Project or Primavera.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels and maintain client confidentiality.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to produce accurate work within designated timeframes.
