About the role#
As a Production Engineering Co-op student at Irving Tissue, you will work within our manufacturing operations in Dieppe, New Brunswick. This position is for the Winter 2027 term and offers hands-on experience in optimizing production processes. You will work on-site and participate in job-related training and development.
What you'll do#
- Assist with process improvement projects to enhance productivity, efficiency, and product quality.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Support root cause analysis and problem-solving activities related to equipment performance, waste reduction, and process variability.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and safety teams on cross-functional projects.
- Support equipment trials, process validations, and product testing activities.
- Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and assist with updating standard operating procedures and process documentation.
- Create reports, presentations, and recommendations based on project outcomes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Chemical, Electrical, or Process Engineering.
- Eligibility to participate in a recognized co-op or internship program.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Self-motivation with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- A commitment to workplace safety and continuous learning.
