About the role#
This position is based at Irving Wallboard in Saint John, New Brunswick. You will work alongside engineers, production teams, and quality personnel to optimize operations. The role offers hands-on experience with process improvement, data analysis, and technical problem-solving. We provide mentorship from experienced professionals and exposure to real-world engineering challenges.
What you'll do#
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Collect and analyze production data to support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Support trials and experiments on the production floor, including documentation and reporting.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Participate in cross-functional teams focused on continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
- Assist with equipment troubleshooting and process optimization.
- Contribute to sustainability and waste reduction initiatives.
- Support KPI reporting by gathering data, updating dashboards, and analyzing trends.
- Present findings and recommendations to engineering and operations teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Process Engineering.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with data analysis tools is an asset.
- Previous co-op or internship experience in a manufacturing setting is an asset.

- Term: Winter 2027 (4 to 8 months).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Employment Type: Full-time, paid internship.
- Housing support may be available for eligible candidates. The company also offers reimbursement for co-op fees up to $1,000 for students completing their work term.
