About the role#
We are looking for a Data Modelling Co-op Student to join our team for the Winter 2027 term. You will work alongside local and corporate teams to shape the future of analytics and artificial intelligence at J.D. Irving. This role focuses on optimizing how we store and organize data while supporting our daily operations through actionable insights.
What you'll do#
- Build intuitive dashboards and tools that are accessible to employees at all levels of the organization.
- Lead and support projects to improve how the business stores and organizes data.
- Provide analytic insights to support daily operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Cultivate a culture of accountability and data-based decision making.
- Teach others how to use new data tools and share your technical skills.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program, specifically Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience working with databases, data warehouses, and SQL.
- Experience developing apps or user interfaces from scratch.
- Proficiency in Power BI (DAX and M Language), Microsoft Power Apps, Microsoft Automate, and HTML.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment or interfacing with various levels of an organization is preferred.
- Familiarity with OSI Pi Data Historian, ParcView, RtDuet, or ITop is an asset.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site position.
- Locations: Toronto, Ontario or Dieppe, New Brunswick.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Compensation: The expected base salary range is $21.88 to $27.15 in Ontario and $19.89 to $24.75 in New Brunswick, depending on experience and qualifications. Co-op fee reimbursement is available up to $1000 if eligible.
