About the role#
Invariant is seeking a Communications & Public Affairs Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This full-time, on-site internship offers exposure to strategic communications and public affairs work for a diverse range of clients. Interns will engage in substantive assignments designed to support professional growth and skill development in a collaborative environment.
What you'll do#
- Perform media and social media analysis.
- Research journalists and potential stakeholders.
- Build media lists and create content for social media platforms.
- Identify opportunities to position executives at conferences and through industry awards.
- Assist in developing strategic communications materials for clients.
- Manage competing priorities and deadlines.
What you'll need#
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Proficiency with social media and online platforms.
- Enthusiasm for news, public affairs, or public relations.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and a willingness to take initiative.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator, is considered a plus.
- Pursuing or holding a degree in Communications, Public Health, Media Studies, Political Science, or Journalism.

- Compensation: $19 per hour for undergraduate candidates and $24 per hour for graduate candidates.
