About the role#

Invariant is seeking a Communications & Public Affairs Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This internship provides exposure to strategic communications and public affairs, focusing on helping clients build their brands. The firm emphasizes mentorship, professional growth, and the development of high-level writing skills.

What you'll do#

• Perform media and social media analysis.
• Research potential stakeholders and opportunities to position executives at conferences and through awards.
• Build media lists and create social media content.
• Assist in developing strategic communications for clients.
• Manage competing priorities and deadlines.

What you'll need#

• Strong research and writing ability.
• High level of comfort with social media and online platforms.
• Enthusiasm for news, public affairs, and public relations.
• Established attention to detail and a willingness to take initiative.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator, is considered a plus.
• Pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Health, Media Studies, Political Science, or Journalism.

• Location: New York, NY (On-site).
• Term: Fall 2026, beginning August 31, 2026.
• Commitment: Full-time preferred.
• Compensation: $19/hour for undergraduates; $24/hour for graduate candidates.
