About the role#
Invariant is seeking Communications and Public Affairs interns for the fall 2026 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Washington, DC. Interns will engage in substantive assignments focused on strategic communications and public affairs while receiving mentorship and professional development opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Perform media and social media analysis.
- Research journalists and build media lists.
- Create content for social media platforms.
- Identify and research potential stakeholders.
- Support efforts to position executives at conferences and through industry awards.
What you'll need#
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Comfort using social media and other online platforms.
- Enthusiasm for news, public affairs, or public relations.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively.
- Attention to detail and a willingness to take initiative.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator, is preferred.
- Candidates should be comfortable managing competing priorities and deadlines.
Location & details#
- Location: Washington, DC (on-site).
- Term: Fall 2026, beginning August 31, 2026.
- Compensation: $19 per hour for undergraduate candidates and $24 per hour for graduate candidates.
- This position is full-time.
