Invariant is seeking Communications & Public Affairs Interns for the Fall 2026 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Washington, D.C. The position focuses on providing substantive experience in strategic communications and public affairs, with an emphasis on mentorship and professional development.
What you'll do#
- Perform media and social media analysis.
- Research journalists and maintain media lists.
- Develop content for social media platforms.
- Research potential stakeholders.
- Identify and manage opportunities to position executives at conferences and for industry awards.
What you'll need#
- Strong research and writing skills, with a focus on attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Comfort navigating social media and online research platforms.
- Enthusiasm for news, public affairs, and public relations.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team.
- Capacity to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Academic background in Communications, Public Health, Political Science, or Journalism.
Location & details#
- Location: Washington, D.C. (On-site)
- Term: Fall 2026 (Beginning August 31, 2026)
- Compensation: $19/hour for undergraduate candidates; $24/hour for graduate candidates.
