About the role#
The Intensive Case Management (ICM) Intern supports caseworkers in addressing the needs of vulnerable clients and helping them reach their personal goals. This role requires a commitment to working with the refugee community and involves direct support in navigating local systems and resources.
What you'll do#
- Attend intern orientation.
- Assist with client check-ins, intakes, and assessments.
- Provide transportation to appointments and attend them with clients when necessary.
- Communicate with community partners for case coordination and explore local resources for client referrals.
- Assist clients with daily needs, including completing paperwork, delivering items, bill payments, and navigating medical, mental health, and educational systems.
- Maintain thorough case file documentation and organize digital files.
- Record and submit monthly timesheets.
What you'll need#
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in working with the refugee community.
- Sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds, beliefs, and values.
- Ownership of a personal vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and active car insurance.
- Willingness to transport clients in your personal vehicle.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs.
- Preferred academic backgrounds include Psychology, Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, Human Resources, or Public Health.
