About the role#
Intact is hiring Test Automation Developer interns to join our team. You will work with a group of digital and tech experts to build and refine automated testing solutions. This role offers an opportunity to gain experience in a professional environment while contributing to projects that support our claims adjusters.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the development team to build a new framework using Selenium.
- Integrate API testing and design, code, and test new features while resolving issues.
- Expand and develop testing frameworks and modules to support multiple teams.
- Use object-oriented programming skills in Java and apply design patterns.
- Maximize automation to assist claims adjusters, specifically focusing on total loss scenarios.
- Use agile methodology (Scrum) to enhance team effectiveness.
- Deepen your understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Available to work full-time (35 hours per week) for the Winter 2027 term.
- Must be an active student during the internship or returning to school in Summer or Fall 2027.
- Eligible to work in Canada.
- Proficiency in Java and experience with REST API testing or SOAP UI.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Excellent communication skills and a self-reliant approach.
- Familiarity with continuous delivery pipelines, Jenkins, and integration testing is a plus.
