About the role#
Intact is hiring Software Developer interns for the Winter 2027 term. You will join our digital and tech teams to work on internal products and claims software. This role offers an opportunity to work alongside senior developers and product teams to build, test, and refine software solutions. This is a full-time, paid position based in Toronto.
What you'll do#
- Build new features for internal products including Harbour, Mentor, IT-Health, and Agora.
- Support teams by triaging and fixing production issues.
- Collaborate with product-centric teams to develop, test, and gather feedback.
- Act as a member of an agile squad to build impactful claims features.
- Refine and enhance existing software to improve the experience for claims agents.
- Work with senior developers to deliver products end-to-end.
- Prioritize fixes and contribute to scalable production support.
- Learn software lifecycle management best practices, including design, testing, and deployment.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Available to work full-time (35 hours per week) for the Winter 2027 term.
- Must be an active student during the internship and returning to school in Summer or Fall 2027.
- Proficiency in Java and experience with GitHub.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Curiosity about continuous delivery pipelines and testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptability, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong sense of responsibility.
