About the role#
The Golf & Grounds Intern joins the team responsible for maintaining the turf and landscapes at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Brickyard Crossing Golf Course. This is a hands-on, manual labor position focused on grounds and sports facility management. You will gain experience in the day-to-day operations of a historic motor speedway and a championship-level golf course.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the preparation, execution, and cleanup for events including the Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard 400.
- Assist in maintaining the 18-hole Pete Dye designed golf course.
- Carry out agronomic practices across the Indianapolis Motor Speedway campus.
- Assist the Assistant Grounds Managers with scheduling and project follow-up.
- Help maintain high standards for operational excellence and the fan experience.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Golf Course Management, Turfgrass Management, Horticulture Management, Sports Management, or a related field.
- A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail and an eagerness to learn.
- Effective communication skills.
- The ability to thrive in a diverse environment.
