About the role#
As a Client Services Intern, you will support the IMS Premium Services department during the 2027 season. You will play a key role in delivering premium experiences for events like the Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard Weekend. This is a hands-on position that requires both office work and on-site event support.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain working relationships with clients and partners.
- Manage the printing, packaging, and shipping of hospitality and suite materials.
- Handle daily office tasks and monitor the Client Services email and phone lines.
- Assist with room set-up and tear down for various events.
- Support premium space operations on event days by providing information to guests.
- Conduct suite and hospitality rotations to ensure customer needs are met.
- Educate guests on facility offerings and event schedules.
- Serve as an IMS brand ambassador.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Tourism and Convention Management, Event Management, Sports Management, Marketing, or Public Relations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced computer skills, including Excel and Word.
- Ability to multitask and maintain high attention to detail.
- A team-first outlook and a high level of professionalism.
- Initiative, flexibility, and the ability to work under time constraints.
- High integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Cultural competence and the ability to work in a diverse environment.
- Office experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Indianapolis, Indiana, and requires on-site attendance.
- The internship runs from January 2027 through August 2027.
- You must be available for all events during this period.
- Expect a minimum of 12 hours per week during the spring semester.
- During May and the Brickyard Weekend, you will work a minimum of 40 hours per week, including weekends.
- You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
