About the role#
The Credentials Representative Intern supports the planning and distribution of credentials for major events at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, including the Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard Weekend. You will work under the Credentials and Logistics Coordinator to manage credential processing, assist with customer inquiries, and provide on-site event support. This role is a part-time, paid position that requires a commitment from January 2027 through August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Act as a primary point of contact for guests, providing a positive first impression via phone, email, or in person.
- Assist with the public sale of credentials for the Month of May and Brickyard Weekend.
- Organize and distribute credentials and parking passes.
- Manage seasonal projects such as media releases, vendor packets, and golf cart permits.
- Respond to daily credential inquiries and provide guidance on access levels and benefits.
- Assist in the design and creation of credential access boards.
- Learn and utilize the SCORE point of sale software.
- Perform administrative tasks including laminating, filing, and other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in Marketing, Tourism and Convention Management, Event Management, Sports Management, or Public Relations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized.
- A team-first outlook and cultural competence.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to adjust to changing priorities.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Office experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Indianapolis, Indiana.
- You must be available from mid-January 2027 through early August 2027.
- The schedule requires a minimum of 12 hours per week during the spring, increasing to at least 40 hours per week during May and the Brickyard Weekend in July.
- You must be able to work an irregular schedule including weekends and evenings.
- The role involves working in both office and outdoor environments with potential exposure to loud noise.
- You must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
