About the role#
The Ticket Operations Intern supports the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Ticket Office during the 2027 season. You will assist with operations for major events, including the INDYCAR Grand Prix, the Indianapolis 500, and Brickyard Weekend. This role is based in Indianapolis and runs from January 2027 through July 2027.
What you'll do#
- Provide guests with a positive first impression of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
- Communicate with guests via telephone, email, and in-person to address their needs.
- Assist guests with the purchase and distribution of tickets, parking, and other products.
- Operate the SCORE computer ticket system to process daily orders.
- Handle cash, check, and credit card payments accurately and balance batches for the Financial Coordinator.
- Package and prepare products for mailing.
- Maintain confidential customer and business information.
- Manage remote ticket locations during events as assigned.
- Complete other projects as requested.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited college or university.
- Strong customer service skills and a service-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to maintain high levels of integrity and confidentiality.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a diverse environment.
- Capacity to multi-task, prioritize, and handle pressure with time constraints.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work long, irregular hours, including evenings and weekends during race events.
