About the role#
The Athletic Operations intern will support the daily functions of the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach. This role involves managing logistics for various youth baseball and softball events, including the Hank Aaron Invitational, Nike RBI World Series, and Elite Development Invitationals. You will serve as a primary contact for onsite clients and work closely with the internal operations team.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the athletic department.
- Act as a liaison between onsite clients and JRTC staff.
- Research and compile mailing lists for sales outreach.
- Coordinate and execute direct mail marketing campaigns.
- Support sales staff with outreach and phone calls to athletic organizations.
- Help the communications team review promotional materials and digital advertisements.
- Assist with physical site tasks, including pulling tarps and lifting equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Athletic Operations.
What you'll need#
- A two or four-year degree or a relevant combination of education and experience.
- Current enrollment in an accredited four-year program with at least three years completed.
- Previous experience in an athletics environment.
- A solid understanding of baseball.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong logic and reasoning skills to solve problems independently.
