About the role#
As a Field Marketing Intern, you will serve as an ambassador for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the NTT INDYCAR Series. This role focuses on grassroots marketing, where you will travel to events to interact with fans, generate leads, and represent the brand. You will work on-site at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during major race weekends and travel to community events, festivals, and other racetracks throughout the state. This is a paid, part-time seasonal position running from January through September 2027.
What you'll do#
- Manage displays, collateral, and promotional items at events, including all set-up and tear-down tasks.
- Engage fans of all ages and backgrounds to build excitement for the brand.
- Operate the Indy Commons in the Sam’s Club Fan Midway during major race weekends.
- Support the consumer database by helping fans sign up for giveaways and promotions.
- Identify new event opportunities by interacting with consumers.
- Develop and maintain deep knowledge of the IMS brand, athletes, and the NTT INDYCAR Series.
- Lift up to 50 lbs and assist with equipment transport, storage, and event operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, or a related field.
- A strong interest in sports, motorsports, or sports marketing.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- A creative, problem-solving mindset and a self-starter attitude.
- High integrity, confidentiality, and a result-oriented approach to teamwork.
- Ability to maintain high energy and a courteous, professional demeanor during shifts.
- Ability to work weekends, unusual hours, and maintain a flexible schedule.
- Candidates aged 21 or older and bilingual speakers are preferred.
- Local market knowledge is a plus.
