About the role#
The External Affairs Community Engagement (EACE) intern coordinates outreach efforts to connect the community with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. You will arrange educational content and experiential opportunities while supporting various projects for the EACE and Human Resources teams. This role is part of the broader college program.
What you'll do#
- Manage communication with schools and non-profit organizations regarding visits to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and NTT INDYCAR SERIES events.
- Prepare and present educational information on the history of the speedway and the racing series.
- Provide tours of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to community groups.
- Help coordinate and implement the Penske Entertainment Training program.
- Create and distribute feedback surveys for EACE programming to support analysis for the Vice President of External Affairs.
- Develop content for social media platforms.
- Attend meetings and assist with EACE programming during Indianapolis Motor Speedway events.
- Complete special projects and run necessary errands as requested.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university.
- Strong skills in Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Excel to create reports, dashboards, and presentations.
- Ability to build relationships with schools and community organizations.
- Interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Creative thinking and the drive to take initiative on projects.
- Cultural competence and the ability to work in a diverse environment.
- Proficiency with social media management tools and experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premier Pro) are preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Indianapolis, Indiana.
- Term: January 2027 through October 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
- Schedule: Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with extended hours required during race weekends and key events.
