About the role#
IMEG is hiring a Civil Engineering Intern for a full-time, 10-12 week program during Summer 2026. This is a paid, on-site internship based in Dallas, Texas. You will work with experienced engineers on municipal, university, and utility projects. The role involves hands-on project work, field inspections, and report writing under the guidance of a mentor.
What you'll do#
- Assist with design portions of civil projects according to code and company standards.
- Support client relations, maintain the project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files.
- Conduct periodic job site observations.
- Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before requesting a final check.
- Assist with the preparation and issuance of addendum information.
- Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions.
- Coordinate design and schedules with other disciplines including architectural, structural, and mechanical teams.
- Assist with field duties such as surveying and materials testing as needed.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 2 years toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent program.
- Strong interest in design consulting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, CAD software, and BIM.
- Ability to communicate clearly in oral and written formats to individuals or groups.
- Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry is preferred.
