About the role#
We are looking for a Civil Engineering Intern to join our team for a 10 to 12 week program during the summer of 2026. This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in either San Antonio or Austin, Texas. You will work alongside experienced engineers on real project tasks, including site drainage and grading design, permit applications, and field inspections. Our Texas civil team supports a variety of municipal, university, and utility projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with civil project design tasks while following code requirements and company standards.
- Maintain project design notebooks and provide documentation for permanent record files.
- Coordinate design schedules with other disciplines, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and architectural teams.
- Document design decisions, meeting notes, and client instructions.
- Conduct job site observations and support field duties like surveying or materials testing.
- Review project documents for accuracy and completeness.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 2 years toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
- A strong interest in design consulting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CAD software, and BIM.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry is preferred.
