About the role#
IFF is seeking students for a Process Engineering internship at our Health and Biosciences site in Madison, Wisconsin. This program offers hands-on experience in core engineering competencies, including project leadership, data analysis, and process safety management. Interns will work full-time during either the Summer and Fall terms of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Lead projects through investigation, scope, design, and implementation to improve safety and capacity.
- Build data visualization dashboards within the plant historian system.
- Support capital projects, including commissioning and start-up activities during plant shutdowns.
- Assist engineers with plant trials and production or maintenance troubleshooting.
- Comply with all company policies, including Quality, Safety, Food Safety, Environmental, GMPs, Dietary Supplements, and HACCP-HARPC standards.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Ability to work safely and follow all corporate and site EHS guidelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

- Term: Summer 2027 and Fall 2027.
- Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
- Work environment: Frequent interaction in manufacturing plant environments, which may involve prolonged standing, walking, working at heights, and exposure to temperature extremes.
