About the role#
This is a co-op position for a student to work at our chemical manufacturing plant in Maitland, Ontario. You will join our Operations team to support plant safety, process efficiency, and resource management. This is a full-time, paid role with a rolling term of 4 to 8 months.
What you'll do#
- Work with the Operations team to understand plant processes and recommend improvements.
- Build a network of data collection to identify opportunities for improvement and implement statistical process control.
- Update Operating Procedures and Standard Operating Conditions.
- Implement audit findings and small projects to support safety, quality, and process improvements.
- Investigate site consumption of steam, electricity, and water to make recommendations for reduction.
- Support Process Safety Management systems and participate in Process Hazard Analysis.
- Assist with equipment sizing, plant tests, and general operations support.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a junior to intermediate student in Chemical or Nanotechnology Engineering.
- Ability to work safely in an operating chemical plant environment.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Excellent writing and documentation skills.
- A desire to learn.

- Location: Maitland, Ontario.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Transportation: Limited public transit is available; access to a car is helpful.
- Housing: Students are responsible for arranging their own housing.
