REMASTER CITRUS Innovation Intern

About the role#

The REMASTER CITRUS Innovation Intern will join the team at the Citrus Innovation Center to support the development and deployment of citrus-based flavor projects. This role focuses on accelerating innovation by assisting experienced flavorists and beverage designers with lab operations, sensory evaluation, and product formulation. You will gain exposure to the end-to-end innovation process, from initial concept through to customer delivery.

What you'll do#

• Support daily lab operations, including sample preparation, batching, and formulation.
• Assist in citrus flavor development and applications across various beverage and food systems.
• Prepare samples for internal tastings, sensory panels, and customer submissions.
• Document experiments, formulations, and results following R&D best practices.
• Participate in tasting sessions and provide sensory feedback.
• Maintain lab organization, including inventory management and material handling.
• Conduct basic lab procedures, including the preparation of intermediates and finished flavors.
• Support product evaluation and stability testing.
• Ensure compliance with lab safety standards, GMPs, and company policies.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Human Nutrition, or a related field.
• Sophomore status or above (Bachelor’s) or early-stage Master’s student.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory practices and food safety principles.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
• Ability to pass an internal sensory assessment.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions.

• Location: Lakeland, Florida.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Term: Rolling.
• Hours: Minimum 16 hours per week, with up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
• Employment Type: Full-time, paid internship.
• Requirements: Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.
