About the role#
As a Technical Enablement Specialist Intern, you will join the IBM Z WSC Advisory team. This group supports worldwide IBM Z and LinuxONE clients, business partners, and internal teams. You will focus on the z/OS Communications Server workstreams, including networking, routing, and security. This role provides exposure to enterprise-class systems, IBM Z labs, and real client environments.
What you'll do#
- Analyze client environments and provide technical recommendations to improve system performance and security.
- Partner with development teams to address specific client requests.
- Coordinate with support resources to track client priorities and open issues.
- Assist account teams during network-specific client engagements.
- Design and run communications server workshops for clients and partners.
- Develop educational materials and content for IBM Z events.
- Create labs related to communication servers for internal and client use.
- Manage project workflows using approved management tools.
- Build client education pathways focused on the z/OS Communications Server.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or C.
- Working knowledge of IBM z/OS, Cobol, or JCL.
- Familiarity with mainframe hardware, enterprise operating systems, and IT infrastructure.
- Basic knowledge of networking and routing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with AI tools for productivity.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite, especially for presentation design.
- Familiarity with project management frameworks.
- Ability to collaborate across functions in a large organization.
- Client relationship management skills.
