About the role#
As a GEM Summer Commodities Intern, you will provide analytical and project support to the RaboResearch Global Economics and Markets management team and the Commodities Research group. You will gain experience working with fundamental financial and physical commodities data, learning to monitor markets and model demand and supply through inventory analysis. This is a full-time, 10-week paid internship program.
What you'll do#
- Create new research and conduct high-level fundamental analysis on commodities including oil, refined products, metals, natural gas, and power.
- Prepare and maintain recurring portfolio, financial, and management reports.
- Collect, organize, and review data for management information, dashboards, and presentations.
- Support commodities presentations by creating PowerPoint slides and managing related spreadsheets.
- Collaborate with Wholesale Banking product and coverage groups.
- Participate in team meetings, networking, and learning activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program in mathematics, computer science, finance, business, economics, accounting, or data analytics.
- Strong academic performance.
- Interest in commodities analysis, food and agribusiness, energy, the green energy transition, and metals.
- Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to summarize information clearly.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
- A collaborative, self-motivated approach and a willingness to learn across teams.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Please note that we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
- Experience with Bloomberg or AI-enabled tools is a plus.
