About the role#
Join the Software Innovation Lab at IBM to work on the foundations of artificial intelligence. You will join a team of scientists and engineers focused on end-to-end research. This role involves building, testing, and deploying AI applications for business processes, IT automation, and software engineering. You will work in small, mentored teams to move projects from initial ideas to completion.
What you'll do#
- Advance agent architectures and domain-specific models.
- Develop responsible AI systems and benchmarks for enterprise use.
- Collaborate with researchers and product managers to turn AI techniques into practical solutions.
- Build AI tools and platforms that improve how systems are deployed.
- Share your findings through academic publications and patent applications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS or MS program for Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Foundations in machine learning and software engineering.
- Familiarity with natural language processing and generative AI.
- Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks and experimental evaluation.
- A problem-solving mindset and comfort working in a collaborative team.
- Past experience with research projects, hackathons, or open-source contributions.
