About the role#
As a Quantum System Performance Monitoring Intern, you will join a team of scientists focused on the stability and availability of quantum computing systems. You will work on automated monitoring and calibration tasks to keep these systems running effectively.
What you'll do#
- Develop and improve techniques to identify performance drift and degradation in quantum processors.
- Make automated decisions regarding when to recalibrate or perform other maintenance actions.
- Optimize system parameters to improve overall performance.
- Apply machine learning, AI, statistical analysis, or optimization methods to monitoring and calibration workflows.
What you'll need#
- Undergraduate-level knowledge of quantum physics, quantum computing, Python programming, numerical analysis, and statistics.
- Graduate-level familiarity or hands-on experience with the topics listed above.
- Practical experience with experimental quantum systems, quantum-device characterization, or calibration.
- Experience using the Qiskit python package.
- Background in developing or applying machine learning, statistical, or optimization methods to time-series or experimental data.
- Familiarity with anomaly detection, statistical inference, automated control, or parameter optimization.
- Experience working with large experimental datasets or data-analysis pipelines.
