    About the role#

    This is a full-time, paid research internship focused on the development of computational approaches for studying complex quantum systems. You will work within a collaborative research environment, combining quantum computing, numerical methods, and scientific computing to address problems in quantum simulation.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop, implement, and evaluate computational methods for quantum simulation.
    • Benchmark algorithm performance, focusing on accuracy, resource requirements, and scalability.
    • Apply methods to research problems including ground- and excited-state calculations, time evolution, and thermal-state preparation.
    • Collaborate with researchers across scientific disciplines.
    • Share your findings through technical reports, presentations, and publications.

    What you'll need#

    • A strong foundation in quantum computing and quantum algorithms.
    • Proficiency in Python or a similar scientific programming language.
    • Knowledge of linear algebra and numerical methods.
    • Research experience in quantum simulation or a related field.
    • Experience with Hamiltonian simulation, many-body methods, quantum chemistry, electronic structure, or condensed-matter physics.
    • Familiarity with quantum software frameworks like Qiskit, Cirq, or PennyLane.
    • Ability to implement methods, analyze results, and communicate technical findings clearly.
    • Experience with high-performance computing or scientific computing environments is a plus.
    • Current enrollment in a degree program related to Computer Science, Physics, or Chemistry.
