About the role#
This internship is part of the Quantum Operations team. You will support the automation of network operations to help maintain the environment used for Quantum solutions. You will work alongside experienced engineers to apply your academic background to real-world tasks. The focus is on learning how automation improves network efficiency rather than architecture or design.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain scripts and tools to automate routine network tasks.
- Handle configuration deployment, monitoring, and reporting.
- Shadow troubleshooting sessions with the engineering team.
- Help document technical processes.
- Contribute to small automation projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of scripting or programming, specifically Python.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals like TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
- Understanding of Linux/Unix environments.
- Exposure to automation concepts or tools such as Ansible, REST APIs, or Git.
- Experience with personal or academic projects involving scripting, automation, or network simulation tools like GNS3 or Packet Tracer.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms or containerization basics like Docker.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in Yorktown Heights, New York.
