About the role#
As a Retail Pharmacy Intern at Hy-Vee, you will gain hands-on experience in a pharmacy setting while working toward your pharmacy degree. You will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to support patient care, manage inventory, and ensure the pharmacy runs efficiently.
What you'll do#
- Provide prompt and friendly service to every customer.
- Fill and process prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Prepare prescriptions and affix labels to containers.
- Report any medication errors to the appropriate personnel.
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and monthly counts.
- Follow all security and regulatory procedures.
- Assist in training pharmacy employees.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Protect the confidentiality of customer medical information.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and store policies.
- Assist in other areas of the store when necessary.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Valid registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
