The Hudson Institute China Center is seeking interns to support research on the US-China relationship, national security, and US Grand Strategy. This role provides direct support to Senior Fellow and Director Miles Yu. Interns will engage in discussions on critical policy issues and have the opportunity to attend public and intern-specific events featuring policy experts.
What you'll do#
- Gather and analyze data for reports and articles.
- Assist with research projects, presentations, and podcast transcript editing.
- Draft and edit op-eds, reports, and briefing memos.
- Provide weekly support for the China Insider podcast.
- Monitor current events to keep the team informed.
- Assist with administrative tasks and event support.
What you'll need#
- Current student or recent graduate in political science, international relations, economics, security studies, or Chinese language studies.
- Demonstrated interest in US foreign policy, Chinese studies, regional security, and diplomatic issues.
- Strong research, writing, editing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Professionalism and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Mandarin language skills are highly preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Washington, DC.
- Term: Fall 2026 (August 24 to December 4).
- Modality: On-site preferred (minimum 10 hours per week).
- Compensation: This is an unpaid, volunteer research position.
