The Hudson Institute is seeking interns to gain experience researching the South and Central Asia region. This role focuses on issues including economic development, security, and international relations involving India, the U.S., Pakistan, and China. Interns will engage in discussions with subject matter experts and have the opportunity to attend public and intern-specific events featuring scholars and experts.
What you'll do#
- Perform archival research to support a book project.
- Monitor and report on current events to keep the team informed.
- Assist experts with short-term projects related to articles and events.
- Draft articles, op-eds, reports, and briefing memos.
- Provide administrative support and assist with event coordination.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a degree program in Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, Anthropology, History, or related fields.
- Demonstrated interest in South and Central Asian affairs.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong research, writing, editing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail.
Location & details#
- Location: Washington, DC.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Fall 2026 (August 24 to December 4).
- Commitment: Full-time.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid, volunteer research position.
