About the role#
Hudson Institute is seeking interns to support research on human rights and national security challenges in Asia. This role focuses on human rights conditions in China, North Korea, and Southeast Asia, including research on the Uyghur genocide and crimes against humanity. Interns will work directly with experts to discuss critical policy issues and will have the opportunity to attend public events and intern-specific programs featuring Hudson scholars.
What you'll do#
- Conduct substantive research for reports, articles, and briefing papers.
- Co-author op-eds and draft sections of reports.
- Assist scholars with research projects, presentations, and keeping the team updated on current events.
- Edit research materials and provide administrative and event support.
- Attend meetings and network with scholars in the field.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a degree program in political science, international relations, human rights, security studies, history, or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest in human rights and an understanding of the politics of human rights in Asia.
- Strong research, writing, editing, analysis, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Reliability, professionalism, and a detail-focused approach.
- Availability to work a minimum of 15 to 20 hours per week.
