The Political-Military Analysis Department at Hudson Institute is seeking interns for the Fall 2026 term to support research on the impact of Russia-China relations on U.S. security. This position offers exposure to critical policy issues and the opportunity to engage in discussions with subject matter experts. Interns will gain experience in a research-focused environment and, for those working onsite, participate in public and intern-specific events featuring Hudson scholars.
What you'll do#
- Conduct open-source research for inclusion in reports and articles.
- Write literature reviews based on gathered sources.
- Keep the team and experts updated on current events.
- Assist experts with research projects, presentations, articles, op-eds, reports, and briefing memos.
- Provide administrative support and assist with event operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a degree program in political science, international relations, economics, security studies, military studies, or related fields.
- Demonstrated interest in military operations, strategy, and Russia-China relations.
- Strong research, writing, editing, and analysis skills, combined with professional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Russian language capabilities are highly preferred.

- Location: Washington, DC.
- Term: August 24 to December 4, 2026.
- Modality: Hybrid or remote work options are available.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid, volunteer research position.
