Research Internship, Political-Military Analysis Department, Fall 2026

About the role#

The Political-Military Analysis Department at Hudson Institute is seeking interns for the Fall 2026 term to support research on the impact of Russia-China relations on U.S. security. This position offers exposure to critical policy issues and the opportunity to engage in discussions with subject matter experts. Interns will gain experience in a research-focused environment and, for those working onsite, participate in public and intern-specific events featuring Hudson scholars.

What you'll do#

• Conduct open-source research for inclusion in reports and articles.
• Write literature reviews based on gathered sources.
• Keep the team and experts updated on current events.
• Assist experts with research projects, presentations, articles, op-eds, reports, and briefing memos.
• Provide administrative support and assist with event operations.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a degree program in political science, international relations, economics, security studies, military studies, or related fields.
• Demonstrated interest in military operations, strategy, and Russia-China relations.
• Strong research, writing, editing, and analysis skills, combined with professional communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Russian language capabilities are highly preferred.
