Hudson Institute is seeking interns to gain research experience in the U.S. national security industrial base, strategic technologies, and American grand strategy. Interns support experts working to ensure American preparedness and competitiveness in the current geopolitical environment. Participants will engage in discussions regarding critical policy issues and have the opportunity to assist with and attend public and intern-specific events featuring scholars and experts.
What you'll do#
- Gather and analyze data for reports and articles.
- Keep the expert and team updated on current events.
- Assist experts with research projects and presentations.
- Support the drafting of articles, op-eds, reports, and briefing memos.
- Provide administrative support and assist with event operations.
What you'll need#
- Current students or recent graduates in political science, international relations, economics, security studies, technology studies, or related fields.
- Demonstrated interest in and experience with defense policy and China policy.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Strong research, writing, editing, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Availability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Location & details#
- Location: Washington, DC (On-site).
- Term: Fall 2026 (August 31 to December 11).
- Compensation: This is an unpaid, volunteer research position.
