About the role#
Join the Corporate Information Security team at Howmet Aerospace for a 12-week internship in Summer 2027. Based in Pittsburgh, this role focuses on Policy, Risk, and Governance. You will gain exposure to Cyber Data Loss Prevention, investigations, Vulnerability Management, Security Awareness, and Incident Response. This program provides a well-rounded experience in both governance functions and technical security operations.
What you'll do#
- Support efforts to identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity risks.
- Develop cybersecurity policies and standards.
- Assist with risk assessments, documentation, and the creation of reports or dashboards to support risk-informed decision-making.
- Review security controls and evidence.
- Work on compliance activities and audit readiness.
- Align with security frameworks, including NIST, CMMC, and ISO 27001.
- Identify and track gaps and remediation efforts.
- Translate technical cybersecurity requirements into business expectations.
- Interact with members of the Corporate Information Security team to learn their roles and responsibilities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Cybersecurity.
- Expected graduation date in Fall 2027 or Spring 2028.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or equivalent.
- Demonstrated participation in internships, work, research, or extracurricular activities (at least one extracurricular activity required).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (visa sponsorship is not available).
- Preferred: Previous IT internship with a global employer, project experience with security tools, and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
