About the role#
DUAL North America is hiring an Underwriting Intern for the summer of 2027. You will join our underwriting team in Chicago to gain hands-on experience and build practical skills. You will report to a Senior Underwriter and work on projects that support our day-to-day business operations.
What you'll do#
- Partner with underwriters to review insurance submissions and assess risk.
- Learn the fundamentals of pricing and underwriting strategy through real-world examples.
- Organize underwriting data and keep records accurate.
- Research industry trends and emerging risks, then summarize your findings for the team.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program, ideally in Risk Management, Business Administration, or Finance.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well with others in a team setting.
- Clear communication and interpersonal skills.
- A basic understanding of insurance principles is helpful but not required.

- This is a full-time, paid internship based in Chicago, Illinois.
- The role is on-site at our office.
- The internship term is scheduled for Summer 2027.
